History of Calvary Christian School
Calvary Christian School was founded in 1984 when many parents were looking for an alternative to the public educational system. Since that time, the school has added grades one through twelfth to its kindergarten classes. Calvary Christian School now offers classes from three-year-old kindergarten through high school.
Calvary Christian School operates on a simple four point platform :
1) The students will be given love and concern. This concept is fundamental to the teachings of the Bible, which is the reason this first point is the basis of all the ministries of Calvary Baptist Church. This love for the students and concern for their needs are reflected in the treatment of the student. Our school also offers protection from worldly influences.
2) Each child will be given sound Biblical training. Our goal is to bring each student to the place that they will accept Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior and will be obedient to the teaching of God’s word.
3) The students will be given quality academic training. Calvary Christian School uses the proven A Beka curriculum with its strong phonics base and superior academic philosophy. We do not apologize for the high academic standards that is reflected in our curriculum and associated with our school. Our kindergartners learn to read manuscripts and write in cursive. Our Stanford Achievement Testing results are above the national averages.
4) Each Student is given standards by which they are expected to abide. A Christian School is “Christian” not only because of the previous three pints, but also because of the training that is given in outward standards. We want each child to feel secure in what is required to them to attend Calvary Christian School. Our two-fold goal is to make every child that has already given his/her life to serve the Lord comfortable in our school surroundings and to give training in practical Christian living to those who have not yet given their lives to Jesus and to live for him.
